Much needed resources for our children during lockdown
12 months after Kenya went into lockdown although it's been an extremely challenging period we are grateful all the children and staff at Footprints are safe and well at this time. As Kenya goes into a 3rd wave we have to protect our children even more. The children are on a break from school at the moment so we are trying to create activities in the home. We would normally have days out at the beach or community days but due to COVID restrictions this is difficult.
We are struggling for resources at the moment as funds are still tight. We have no volunteers travelling to Footprints at this time who would normally be able to bring valuable supplies from our generous supporters in the UK. We have managed to get Wi-Fi from the local service provider Safari Com. We are making a plea for some small laptops (preferably 11 inches) either new or reconditioned. As we have no easy way of getting them to Kenya at this time, we could possibly get one or two out there so we are also looking for donations so we could purchase them in Kenya. These would enable some of our young people to continue studies online. Mary and Jane should be going to University but due to COVID restrictions have to stay at the home and do online learning, Joseph is trying to do some extra learning in French via zoom meetings and new laptops would really benefit all the children at Footprints. If you feel you could help by either donating a small new or reconditioned laptop or making a donation please get in touch via Facebook messenger or click the donate button below stating laptop as your reason for donating.
